Mitchell passed away Tuesday, May 20th, at 9:45 a.m. in her late home at Addison, Pa., of heart disease. She had been bedfast most of the time during the past year or more, and was just six days past her 80th birthday, but remained bright and cheerful until the end. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband, John W. Mitchell. An only son, Scott, was killed instantly a number of years ago, in a railroad accident. She is also survived by two brothers, Will Shirer of Somerfield and Frank Shirer of Addison. Other survivors are five grandchildren, four of whom live in South Dakota and Minnesota and the fifth being Arline Mitchell Hileman, wife of Daniel Hileman, with whom she made her home, and also two great-grandchildren. There are a number of nieces and nephews, among them being Harry N. Mitchell of Union. Funeral services at 2:00 o'clock p.m., Friday, May 23rd, at the late residence in Addison, in charge of the Rev. Mrs. Ritchey, and the Rev. Martin, under the direction of Funeral Director Harry Rishebarger, with interment in the family plot in Addison Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, May 22, 1941
