Mitchell, 63, Confluence RD 3, died March 10, 1988, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 1, 1924, in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, a son of the late David F. and Elizabeth (King) Mitchell. Survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Goller) Mitchell; three sons: Barry, Confluence; Terry, Stoystown; and David, Durham, N.C.; four grandchildren; a sister, Alta Reeves, and a brother, Frank, both Rockwood RD 3; and a brother, Herbert, Somerset. Preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Confluence, where he served as congregational vice president. Veteran of World War II. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, and until noon on Sunday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Donald L. Knowles officiating. Interment, Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
