Mitchell, 65, Boswell RD 1, died July 24, 1983, at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. He was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Markleton, son of Noah R. and Lucinda (Ohler) Mitchell. He was preceded in death by parents, brothers: Noah and Charles Mitchell, sister, Sarah Younkin, and four half-brothers: Alex, William, Melvin and Harry Ohler. He is survived by widow, the former Julia Ryman, and these children: Harry, Cleveland, Ohio; Betty, wife of Robert Benny, Hooversville; George, married to the former Lillian Chipchosky, Central City; Shirley, wife of Foster Johnson, Boswell RD 1; Pat, wife of Thomas Speckman, Jennerstown; 14 grandchildren. He was the brother of: Leroy, Rockwood; John, Friedens; Harvey, Boswell RD 2; Clarence, Ambridge; Mrs. Dorothy Mitchell and Mrs. Nina Ohler, both of Fairhope; and half-brother, Milt Ohler, Markleton. He was a member of UMWA, USW, Jenner Rod and Gun Club, Somerset Aerie 1801 F.O.E., and Somerset County Old-Timers Baseball Association. Retired miner and also retired after 22 years service at Bethlehem Steel Corp. Friends were received at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where services were held with the Rev. Chancey J.
