MOGNET After a short illness death summoned Joseph G. Mognet, son of James and Louisa Moore Mognet, on Friday evening, Oct. 30, at his home just south of town. He was born near Donegal, Westmoreland County, and lived in the vicinity of Meyersdale for the last 60 years. His life's span was 83 years, 6 months and 28 days, having been born on April 2, 1859. He was a carpenter by trade. He is survived by the following children: S. Edison Mognet, Leechburg, Pa.; Mrs. Hillary Dawson, Meyersdale; Cora Mognet, Cumberland, Md.; Frank, and Ruth at home; also by six grandchildren. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: C. Newton, Lavansville; Smith K. and Harmar, Trent; Peter P., Mary and Mrs. M. M. Knepper of Somerset. The funeral was held on the 58th anniversary of his marriage to Susan Miller, daughter of Samuel P. Miller, and Susana Klingaman. His wife passed away about four years ago. The funeral services were conducted at his late home on Monday at 2 p.m., by Rev. R. M. Dunkelberger, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church and Rev. DeWitt I. Miller, minister of the Church of the Brethren, followed by interment in Union Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price and Son. Meyersdale Republican, November 5, 1942
