Monteith, 75, Jerome Avenue, Jerome, died Aug. 11, 2006, at Windber Medical Center. Born Nov. 3, 1930, in Clymer, Indiana County, son of James and Mary B. (Fleming) Monteith. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Robert and Richard. Survived by wife of 49 years, the former Bridget P. Stevens; sons, James R., married to Christine Ringler, Blough; Mark S., married to Linda Lake, Stoystown; and Richard S., married to Patricia Kifer, Hollsopple; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Marcelline Stevens, Ebensburg. Retired employee of the former Johnstown Works, U.S. Steel Corp. with 35 years service. A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and recipient of the Korean Service Medal with Star, United Nations Ribbon and the Purple Heart. Visitation was held Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville, where a private funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Charles T. Kelly officiating.
