Moore, 82, Windber, formerly of Central City and Jenner Township, died Sept. 23, 2003, at UPMC Lee Regional Hospital, Johnstown. Born Dec. 9, 1920, in Lincoln Township, son of Lloyd N. and Minerva (Moore) Moore. Preceded in death by parents, stepfather Arthur Frampton, wife of 58 years, the former Dorothy C. Daniels, Dec. 4, 2001, two sisters, Esther Moore and Osthilia Plessinger, and three brothers, Glenn, Barsakus Harold, and Clyde. Survived by sons, Herb E. married to Carol Ann Wise, Windber, and Bert E. married to Carol Jean Stewart, New Brighton; three grandchildren, Michael Moore, Michelle (Moore) married to Brian Gearhart and Christopher Moore. Two step-grandchildren, Michelle (Wise) married to Byran Kaniuk, and Amber Wise. Three step-great-grandchildren, Sydney, Mason and Ethan Kaniuk and sister-in-law, Edna (Gordon) Moore, Phoenix, Ariz. Army veteran of World War II having served with the 42nd Field Artillery from 1938 to 1941 and the Army Air Force 1942 to 1945. Retired employee of the former Babcock and Wilcox Steel Co., Beaver Falls, with 24 years service. Also was a coal miner at the Quecreek Mine and had worked at the former Somerset State Hospital and Johnstown Plant Bethlehem Steel Corp. Avid hunter and fisherman. Member of Berkey Church of the Brethren near Windber, USWA, and the Windber Senior Citizens. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Friday at Berkey Church, Rev. Earl Crissman officiating. Interment, Beam Cemetery near Gray with full military graveside rite in charge of the Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
