Moore, 87, of Horner Church Rd., Stoystown RD, formerly of West Orange, N.J. died March 3, 2001 at Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 22, 1914 in West Orange. Son of William E. Moore, a veteran of the Spanish-American War, and Anne (Mulhern) Moore who was born in Ireland. Preceded in death by parents, brothers William and Clarence, sisters Anne Vay, Mary Bartley, Nora Hopper and Kathleen Durning. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Lucia T. Palmere; daughter Carol A. married to C. Arthur Younkin; grandson Drew Younkin, all of Stoystown RD, and sister Olive Hofker of Absecon, N.J. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Retired self-employed landscape contractor. Avid gardener and golfer. As a youth James worked for the inventor Thomas A. Edison at his factory in New Jersey. Friends received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Catholic Church, Boswell, Rev.
