Lowe Moore, 69, of Rockwood RD 2, died Nov. 17, 1981, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Aug. 24, 1912, in Middlecreek Township, a son of the late O.H. and Annie (Phillippi) Moore. He was preceded in death by one brother, Willard. He is survived by his wife, the former Bernice Miller; and the following children: Mrs. Ray (Jo Rene) Lightfoot, Friedens RD 1; Mrs. Robert (Jeanne) Beckman, Great Falls, Mont.; Mrs. Joyce Petty and Mrs. Thomas (Connie) Walbush, both of Pittsburgh; also 7 grandchildren. He was a brother of: Mrs. Ella Osthoff, Bogota, N.J.; Mrs. Florence Smith, Tucson, Ariz.; and William Moore of Alexandria, Va. He was a member and past district director of Somerset County Conservation District for 15 years serving as chairman for 8 years; Pennsylvania Conservation District, secretary two years and first vice president two years; member St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Rockwood, serving as Sunday school superintendent and church council member; Somerset Lodge 358, F and AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Jaffa Shrine, Altoona; B.P.O.E. Lodge 1951 Meyersdale; Home Aid Association of American Legion; and VFW of Somerset. Formerly self-employed dairy and poultry farmer for 25 years. Chairman of Agricultural Stabilization Board for 5 years, and retired Prudential Life Insurance agent. Friends were received at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Rockwood, with the Rev. George Bowersox officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. The Republic, November 26, 1981 [M2261]
