Moreland died at the Somerset Community Hospital Nov. 13, 1975, at 5:30 p.m., after an illness of nearly a year. He was born in Wayne, N.Y., on Aug. 31, 1881. Married Mary Agnes Twigg of Cumberland, Md., on Jan. 5, 1905, at Findlay, Ohio. The Rev. Mr. Moreland was an ordained minister in the Church of God, and was the oldest in that organization. He served as pastor in Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, and was an outstanding evangelist for over 50 years. He was also serving in the capacity of State Overseer of New York and Missouri. His permanent home has been on the Church of God Campgrounds in Somerset for the past 25 years. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Smith and Mrs. David Lykens, both of Somerset; one granddaughter, Mrs. Retta Gelormino, and two great-granddaughters, Holly Kay and Heidi May Roush of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. His wife preceded him in death on June 22, 1967. Viewing will be at the Masood Funeral Home at Saxton. Services will be held in the Everett Church of God on Sunday at 2 p.m., with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Cumberland, Md., the Rev. Earl P. King and the Rev. C. B. Shau officiating.
