Morgan, 93, Acosta Road, Acosta, died Nov. 19, 2002, at Somerset Hospital. Born Aug. 29, 1909, in Clearfield County, son of Andrew and Agnes (Armstrong) Morgan. Preceded in death by parents, infant son, James; several infant sisters and brother, sisters: Elizabeth Stafford, Beatrice Hay and Agnes Parfit; and brothers: Andrew, Lester, Robert, Leroy and James. Survived by wife, the former Mary Ellen Horner, children: Georgiann Rose, West Palm Beach, Fla.; David H., married to Jane Baer, Salisbury and Gloria Morgan, West Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Former member of the Somerset Aerie 1801 F.O.E. and the Acosta Volunteer Fire Department. Observed 70th wedding anniversary May 17, 2002. Former miner for Consolidated Coal Co. and later operated the company recreation building. Along with his wife, he was the co-owner/operator of the former Belmont Inn, Acosta for over 30 years. First person to operate a drive-in movie in Somerset County, located along Route 30 near the Sliding Rock Golf Course. Built and operated the former Airport Restaurant, later Ratsy's currently the Grapevine Restaurant, Somerset. Avid supporter of the Acosta team, of the former Somerset County Baseball League. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Jane Metzgar, lay minister, officiating.
