Morgan, 95, of Meyersdale, died April 20, 1980, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. She was born June 4, 1884, in Robertsdale, a daughter of the late James and Clara (Ryan) Morgan. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Emma Shaver, Elizabeth; Mrs. Dorothy Kreger, Johnstown; and Lynnetta, wife of Albert Saylor, Meyersdale; also a number of nieces and nephews. She was a 1910 graduate of Homopathic [sic] Hospital, Reading, and a 1913 graduate of Boston Hospital in child diseases. She served from 1917-1919 in World War I in the Nurses' Corps. She did nursing duty in Mercy Hospital and Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. In 1933, she went to Mayview State Hospital, where she retired in 1952. She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh. Friends wee received in the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services were held with her grand-nephew, the Rev. James Shaver, officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery. The Republic, April 24, 1980 [M2327]
