Morrison and his two brothers operated the mill near Kingwood. Friday morning the unfortunate Edward and another brother had come to the mill to saw some timber. About 8:30 they put the circular saw in operation and the two brothers were standing on opposite sides of the spinning saw. In some manner Edward's foot slipped on a board and he fell against the saw. The machinery was stopped almost at once but not before the man was fatally injured. His two brothers picked him up and placed him in a car. He was rushed to the office of a Confluence physician, where he was given medical attention. He was ordered removed to the Somerset Community Hospital, where he died about an hour after admission. Edward Morrison was a son of Alexander and Martha (Herbold) Morrison of near Connellsville. He is survived by his parents, his widow, a small daughter and the two brothers with whom he was associated in business. Dr. F. E. Sass of Boswell, coroner of Somerset County, was notified of the accident and made an investigation late Friday. Morrison's body was removed to his home at Farmington where funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon. Meyersdale Republican, May 8, 1941
