All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ SARAH MORRISON Mrs. Sarah (Kemp) Morrison, aged 88 years, formerly of Meyersdale, died last Friday night in the Somerset County Hospital, of which she had been an inmate for several years. Mrs. Morrison was born at Easter's Mill in Fayette County, Pa., Sept. 18, 1841. She was one of a family of twelve children, of whom only three - Mrs. Chelsea Slicer and Richard Kemp, of Meyersdale, and H. B. Kemp of Titusville, survive. A twin sister died at Morrison, Iowa, ten years ago. Mrs. Morrison's husband died many years ago. Most of her long widowhood was spent with her relatives in Meyersdale. Besides the sister and brother, surviving her here are the following nephews and nieces: Mr. and Mrs. James B. Slicer, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Imler and J. M. Kemp. Funeral services were conducted Monday, at the home of her brother, Richard Kemp, by her pastor, Rev. George A. Fallon, of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Among the relatives who were here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jordan and two children of Smock, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Welshons, Mr. and Mrs. John Kemp, William Kemp, A. J. Kemp, Mrs. Emma Kennedy and C. J. Black, all of Uniontown, and William H. Rutter of Martinsburg, W.Va. Meyersdale Republican, February 27, 1930
