He was born in this county, Feb. 1, 1852, and was aged 79 years, 9 months and 25 days. He was a son of the late Eli and Elizabeth Mosholder. During his early manhood he served as constable of Summit Township and for many years was a very active member of the Republican party whose influence counted for much in local elections. He was a genial, kind-hearted and good- natured man and had many friends. When still quite a young man he married Miss Mary Gauntz of Garrett County, Maryland, who survives with the following named children: William H., of Aberdeen, S.D.; George E., of Meyersdale; Mrs. William Yaist, of Youngstown, Ohio; Harrison M., Connellsville; Edgar E., Youngstown, O.; Gilbert D., Normalville, Pa., and Robert C., Columbus, O. Six children preceded him in death. Undertaker J. L. Tressler prepared his body for burial, after which it was taken to the residence of his son, George E. Mosholder, on Large Street, where it lay in state until the funeral services in the Church of the Brethren, of which he was a member, at 2 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, Rev. George L. Detweiler, his pastor, officiating. Interment was made in Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, December 3, 1931
