Mowry, 68, of RD 1 Buffalo Mills, died Sept. 4, 1974, at his residence. Born Sept. 11, 1905 in Bedford County, son of the late Lewis and Margaret (Lafferty) Mowry. Preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. Survived by his widow, the former Stella Lilly; one daughter, Ann, wife of Thomas Wambaugh of RD 1, Buffalo Mills; three grandchildren. Brother of: Mrs. Grace Holler, Somerset; Mrs. Mae Sanner, Hooversville; Mrs. Pearl Holler, Grindstone; Clay of Bedford; and Glenn of Hyndman. He was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Highways. Also a retired farmer. He had been a Democratic committeeman for Juniata Township for 30 years. He was a lifelong Democrat. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church. Funeral services Friday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m., Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, the Rev. Ray Streets.
