Born Jan. 9, 1925, in Allegheny Township, Somerset County, son of the late William Clarence and Grace Anna (Landis) Mowry Sr. Also preceded in death by brother, Donald L. Mowry, and two sisters: Helen Adams and Evelyn Larsen. Survived by close friend and companion for 21 years, Marguerite Lauer, Somerset. Brother of Mrs. Margaret Morris, Bedford, and Mrs. Pauline Nicholson, Mrs. Alice Kooser and Mrs. D. Jean Sandusky, all of Somerset. Attended Grace United Methodist Church. Member of VFW Post 554, American Legion Post 181, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1801, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 973 and Paradise Valley Sportsmen's Club. Disabled war veteran, U.S. Army, World War II. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Friday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Charles F. Olson officiating. Interment, St. John's Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Somerset "In Touch" Hospice, 651 S.
