Moyer, 79, West Main Street, Somerset, died July 11, 1978, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born March 18, 1899, in Mauertown, Va., a son of Charles and Rebecca (Long) Moyer. Preceded in death by parents and three brothers: Romeo, H. Freeman and Charles. Survived by his wife, the former Vera Marie Williams, and these children: Mrs. Janet Croyle, Randallstown, Md., Donald, Mrs. Lois Emerick and Mrs. Linda Younkin, all of Somerset; William, Johnstown; Wilbur, Painesville, Ohio; Mrs. Shirley Peterson, Mechanicsburg; Charles and Terry, both of Manassas, Va.; and Mrs. Eleanor Petro, Berlin, Va. Also 24 grandchildren and two sisters: Virginia Nicholson, Somerset, and Reba Baughman, Phoenix, Ariz. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Methodist Men, Somerset Volunteer Fire Department and Western Pennsylvania Firemen's Association. Retired machinist on B&O Railroad and member of Brotherhood of Machinists. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Wednesday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
