HENRIETTA CROWE MURPHY

  Mrs. Henrietta Crowe Murphy, 79, wife of William Murphy, Frostburg, Md., 
former Garrett County resident, died at her home Wednesday morning.  She was a 
native of Garrett County, Md., and resided about nine miles east of Grantsville 
until twelve years ago when she moved to Frostburg.
  Besides her husband she is survived by her four sons, Quincy Murphy of 
Friendsville; Marion, Ernest and Ray Murphy of Frostburg; four daughters, Mrs. 
Rella Fresh, (New Germany) Grantsville; Mrs. Bertha Fike, North Braddock, Pa.; 
Mrs. Alvin O. Cook and Mrs. Frank R. Keene, Frostburg; two brothers, Thomas 
Crowe, Finzel, Md., and Eugene Crowe, Meyersdale, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Annie 
Wilson, Frostburg; and twenty-one grandchildren.
  Mrs. Murphy and her husband celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary 
December 4, 1942.
  Funeral services for Mrs. Murphy were held Friday, in Johnson Methodist 
Church, Garrett Co., of which she was a life-long active and faithful member.  
Rev. Virgil R. Gilium, pastor of the Grantsville and Johnson Methodist Church, 
Frostburg, officiated, assisted by Rev. Kenneth M. Plummer, of Ridgely, W.Va.
  The pallbearers were Hubert and Allan Fresh, Robert, Ralph and Edgar Murphy, 
and Carl Fike.  Donald and Gerald Keene, grandsons, served as flower bearers.
  Interment was in the Johnson cemetery.
