Murphy, 16, Gatewood, W.Va., died March 20, 2005, at home. Born in Beckley, W.Va., Dec. 7, 1988, he is the son of Glenn and Dianne (Hankinson) Murphy, both formerly of New Baltimore. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Carl and Helen Murphy, and maternal grandfather, George Hankinson. In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandmother, Marie Hankinson, New Baltimore; Godparents, Tom and Teresa Hankinson, Eldersburg, Md.; sisters, Melody, wife of Scott Hale, Oak Hill, W.Va.; Megan Murphy, Gatewood, W.Va.; Madeline Murphy, Gatewood, W.Va.; brother, Jody and wife, Veronica Murphy, Parkersburg, W.Va.; nephews, Andrew Ash and Connor Murphy; and niece Sarah Hale. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill, W.Va. He was a sophomore at Fayetteville High School and was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved roller blading and snowboarding. Friends are invited to call 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Cemetery, New Baltimore.
