Murphy, 30, of Berlin RD 3, died Nov. 14, 1973, as the result of an automobile accident near the Bedford-Somerset County line. Born April 13, 1943, in Cambria County, he was a son of Carl T. and Helen (Leonard) Murphy. A heavy equipment operator and construction worker, he was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, No. 66, Pittsburgh and the New Baltimore Sportsman's Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Maureen Wright; his parents, and these children, James, Paul, Angela and Douglas, all at home; four brothers, Larry, New Baltimore; Glenn, Robert and Timothy, all of Berlin RD 3; also a half-brother, Eugene Albright, New Baltimore; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Orpha Murphy, Parsons, W.Va. Requiem mass was held Saturday morning in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore, with the Rev. Robert C. Flaherty, O'Carm., officiating. Interment in New Baltimore Cemetery.
