Surviving are his wife, Elsie (Fuller) Murray and all of their 17 children, the oldest aged 19 years. After the birth of their 16th child several years ago, the Meyersdale Republican published a group picture of this remarkable family, and a report of the baptism of the entire family at one time by Rev. Samuel D. Sigler, pastor of the Greenville Lutheran Church. The picture of the family group of this baptismal event received such wide publicity that the New York World's Fair of 1940 invited the entire family to visit the Fair as guests of the management. But the parents respectively declined the invitation. Since 1940 the 17th child was born, and Mr. Murray's health failed. He was a son of Frank and Savilla (Saylor) Murray, born July 23, 1900. He was a good son, husband and father and respected citizen of Greenville Township. His untimely demise is lamented by many friends besides the bereaved family. The orphaned children are named: Franklin, Billy B., Walter D., Roy H., Robert P., Carl L., Dale D., Estella Marie, Betty Elaine, Elma Viola, Norma Jane, Wilma Jane, Emma Grace, Rita May, Joan, Shirley Irene and Doris Wanda Murray. Funeral services held in the Greenville Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m., last Sunday, were conducted by Rev. S. D. Sigler and were largely attended. Interment in the Hochstetler Cemetery, directed by W. C. Price & Son, Meyersdale morticians. Surviving also are the following brothers and sisters of the decedent: Harry and Milton Murray, both of Meyersdale; Mrs. Minerva Newman, Mrs. Cora Garlitz, Mrs. Walter Johns and Mrs. James Wright, all of Salisbury; Mrs. Irvin Miller, Meyersdale, and Mrs. Loreen Morris and Mrs. John Miller, both of Akron, O.
