Murray, 83, of East Pitt Street, Jennerstown, died April 19, 1999, at Windber Hospital. Born Nov. 10, 1915, in Ferndale. Son of Frank and Mary (Trexel) Murray. Preceded in death by parents and beloved daughter-in-law Valerie. Survived by wife; former Hazel C. Johnston; son Richard L. of Jennerstown, daughter Donna J., married to James R. Benson, of Mechanicsburg. Grandchildren: Jeffrey, Kristine and Kathryn Murray and Matthew and Ryan Benson. Brother of Alton W. Douglasville, Ga., Esther I. Koontz, Davidsville, and Elva Harrison, Jacksonville, Fla. Member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown; Somerset Post 181, American Legion, and the AARP. Life-long member of Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Department. Served 21 years as Jennerstown Borough secretary. Crane operator for US Steel, Johnstown, for 31 years. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Recently inducted into the Pennsylvania Voters Hall of Fame for 50 consecutive years of voting. Would have observed 58th wedding anniversary, June 20, 1999. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. William G. Triebe officiating.
