Murray of Coal Run, retired miner, died at his home at 10:05 p.m. on Thursday, March 27th, of arterio-sclerosis, following an illness of about a year. Mr. Murray retired about 20 years ago, and was in good health until his last illness came upon him. He was born in Scotland on August 12, 1855, son of Agnes (Patterson) and William K. Murray, and was 91 years, 7 months and 15 days in age at his death. His wife, Catherine (Fletcher) Murray preceded him to the grave. He is survived by two sons - James Murray of Coal Run, and Robert Murray of Akron, Ohio; by three daughters, Mrs. Jemima Folk, Mrs. Jeannette Jenkins and Mrs. Ida McDonald, all of Akron, Ohio, and one brother, James P. Murray, of Salisbury. Mr. Murray was a member of Salisbury Lodge No. 401, Improved Order of Red Men, and of Star Lodge, No. 409, Knights of Pythias. Funeral services were conducted at the Thomas Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30th, at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. George K. Ely of St. Paul officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Salisbury, in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, April 3, 1947
