Myers, 74, of Addison, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2001, with his family by his bedside at Western Maryland Hospice Center after a long illness. He was born May 1, 1926 in Markleysburg. Son of the late William Newton and Mary Pearl Fisher Myers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Gilbert, two sisters, Ruth A. Smith and a infant sister Pearl, two brothers, William N. Myers Jr. and Eugene Myers. Surviving are his wife Grace Eleanor Green Myers of 54 years, five children, Samuel Myers and wife Bertha of Hyndman, Twila R. Kramer and husband William of Warren, Ricky A. and wife Sandy of Mill Run, Tamara R. Rugg and husband Gary of Addison, Sheila D. Hager and husband Jonathan of Markleysburg, fifteen grandchildren and six Great-Grandchildren, a brother Robert A. Myers of Markleysburg, two sisters Betty J. Rosenberger of Markleysburg and Judith Woods of Ursina. Gibby was a member of the Addison Methodist Church where he served as a caretaker for 23 years. He retired from Snavely Forest Products as a tractor-trailer driver. He was a truck driver for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry Division and the European Theatre. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday the hour of service in the Rodney S. Turner Funeral Home, Markleysburg, with Rev. Timothy Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Addison Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded at graveside. Daily American, March 23, 2001 [M2685]
