Myers, 79, Griffie Road, Acosta, died May 9, 2000, at Somerset Hospital. Born May 4, 1921 in Kecksburg, Westmoreland County, son of James S. and Nettie O. (Zufall) Myers. Preceded in death by parents, several sisters and one brother. Survived by former wife, Elva Jean (Sheppard) Myers; these children, James "Ted" of Columbia, Md., Denver of Arona, Sandra and Rebecca both of Greensburg; and Leslie of Alabama; also several grandchildren and great grandchildren; long time friend Libby Fleegle of Acosta and sisters, Mary Andrews, Gerrie Haines, Joan Bair and Olive Shaffer. Member of Jenner Rod and Gun Club and the Pittsburgh Chapter of the 11th Armored Division Association. Army veteran of World War II. A former employee of PPG Industries, Greensburg. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m., Saturday, at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Rev. Gregory Stauffer officiating.
