Born Nov. 15, 1914, in Latrobe. A son of the late George and Anna (Moore) Nace. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Turkeyfoot Valley School District, Somerset County. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Massachusetts in the South Pacific. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Katheryn (Stiffey) Nace; four sisters: Margaret Reintgen, Lucy Herrod, Susan Braden and Roselia Bursch; four brothers: Clarence, Robert, Emmett and Joseph Nace. Survived by his wife, Helen A. (Richards) Nace; three sons: Luther Nace Jr., Edward and Leroy Nace, all of Confluence; three daughters: Mrs. Marvin (Catherine) Eissinger of Monrovia, Calif.; Mrs. Raymond (Harriet) Singer of Indianapolis, Ind., and Judy Newlin of Poland, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Walters of Latrobe and Mrs. Daniel (Denise) McClintock of Confluence, and two brothers, George Nace of Derry and John Nace of Ligonier. Also 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Charles Carl co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
