    HELEN NAIR
  
    Helen Nair, 63, Somerset RD 5, died Oct. 20, 1981, in Siemon Lakeview Manor
  Estate.
    She was born Jan. 24, 1918, in Fairhope, Somerset County, a daughter of the
  late George and Hulda (Richardson) Merkel.  She was preceded in death by husband, 
  Herbert S. Nair Sr.; a son, George; and three brothers and two sisters.
    She is survived by three sons: Herbert Jr., husband of Lois;  Henry,
  husband of Fumie; and Harry, husband of Donna, all of Somerset; six
  grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a sister of: Mrs. Betty
  Huffman, Mrs. Alma Custer, Mrs. Jean Deitz and Mrs. Shirley Emerick, all of
  Hyndman RD; Victor Merkel and Harry Merkel, both of Cumberland, Md.; Dewey
  Merkel, Fairhope; and John Dermer, Warren, Ohio.
    Friends were received in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where
  services were conducted with the Rev. John C. Cox officiating.  Interment,
  Husband Cemetery.
