Born Feb. 8, 1901 in Somerset Township. Daughter of the late Abram and Fanny (Casebeer) Baker. Preceded in death by husband, Elmer; brother, Milton Baker and nephew, Elwood S. Baker. Survived by two step-daughters: Mrs. Chester (Ethel) Adams, Jacobus, Pa., and Mrs. James (Kathryn) Baughman, Somerset RD 7. Also survived by step-grandson William Baughman and step great-granddaughter, Valerie Baughman, both of Somerset; nieces, Mrs. Clarence (Ethel) Baker Lape, Somerset, and Mrs. Jack (Hazel) Baker Suder, Sacramento, Calif. She was a teacher for 28 years at Benson Borough and Somerset Area Schools, and member of local, state and national retired teachers' associations. She was also a member of Geiger Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday school for 45 years, former Deaconness, choir member and held various offices in church and Sunday school. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Gerald Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment at Casebeer Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Geiger Church of the Brethren. Daily American May 26, 1990
