Atlantic Ave., Pittsburgh, Friday, Nov. 7, after suffering a heart attack. He was the husband of Florence Berkey and son-in-law of former County Supt. of Somerset Co. Schools, J. M. Berkey. The Berkey family were residents of Berlin for many years. Mr. Nance visited in Berlin frequently where he had many friends. He was a retired construction Engineer, a graduate of University of Wisconsin School of Engineering, and since 1940 was an engineer member of Pennsylvania State Board of Health. Before retiring in 1940, he was a member of the Farris Engineering Co., of Pittsburgh. Mr. Nance was born in Monroe, Wisconsin, and came to Pittsburgh in 1910. Surviving are his wife, Florence Berkey Nance, and two brothers, Charles T. Nance of Warren, Ohio, and Allen E. Nance of Sikeston, Mo. Services were held Monday, at 3 p.m. at Sampson's, Neville St, Pittsburgh with interment in Mt. Royal Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Friends from Berlin attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Menges, Mrs. George Lane and Mr. Fred Masters. Meyersdale Republican, November 13, 1947
