All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ _________________________________________ Nathan, Peter Squire Peter Nathan, highly esteemed and well known of Grantsville, died at his home on May 24th after an illness of about a year, followed by a paralytic stroke a week preceding his death. The cause of his death was due to complication of diseases chiefly cirrhosis of the arteries. He had undergone treatment at the Allegany Hospital in Cumberland and the St. Agnes Hospital at Baltimore. He was almost 69 yrs. of age and a native of the village. He was unmarried and is survived by one brother, ex-Postmaster Michael Nathan; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller of Grantsville at present recovering from an operation of a serious character and Mrs. Margaret Fuller, Detroit, Mich.; also number of nieces and nephews. His household consisted of himself and Miss Gertie Ho, who also attended to his household affairs and a grand-niece, Miss Marie Conner, both finding beneath his roof the affection of a father at all times. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church from which place the funeral was held on Friday morning. The pall bearers, active and honorary, were taken from among his friends and fellow directors in the First State Bank. The funeral was largely attended. Interment was made in the old village cemetery. Meyersdale Commercial, June 1, 1916
