Naugle, 77, Hooversville RD 1, died Nov. 8, 1978, at Windber Hospital and Wheeling Clinic. Born March 6, 1901, in Mt. Joy, she was a daughter of Thaddeus and Annie (Fyock) Butler. She was preceded in death by parents; son, Herbert (Pete); and five infant sisters and brothers; and one infant granddaughter. She is survived by her husband Herbert J., and these children: Thelma, wife of Meredith Berkebile, Hooversville; John D., married to Dorothy MacLea, Hooversville RD 1; Darlene, wife of the Rev. Roland C. Catterall, Philadelphia; Geraldine, Claymont, Del; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Sister of Charles, Johnstown; Rebecca, widow of Asa R. Beckner, Boswell RD 2; Esther, wife of W. Paul Wirick, Everett; John Gordon, Castroville, Texas; and Joseph Roy, Cleveland, Ohio. She was a member of the St. Thomas Lutheran Church and was a former school teacher in Paint and Shade Townships. Death breaks a marriage union of 54 years. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville, where prayer services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, where remains will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until time of service, the Rev.
