Naugle, 81, of Seanor Road, Hollsopple, died Nov. 5, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Jan. 7, 1917, in Paint Township, Somerset County. Son of Ira J. and Edith (Bowman) Naugle. Preceded in death by parents and these brothers and sisters: Herlin Smith, Violet Smith, Floyd Naugle and Merle Naugle. Survived by wife, the former Helen Spangler; these children: Clifford, married to Nadine Botwright of Hollsopple; Ernest, married to Cindy Byers of Hooversville; four grandchildren, Bethany, Dennis, Jessica and Nicole. Brother of Emma Graham, Johnstown, and Alvin E. Naugle, Jenners. Lifetime member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church. Member of UMWA 998 of Tire Hill. Death breaks marriage union of 57 years. He was a coal miner for 35 years and did truck farming for 25 years. He was an avid rabbit hunter. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Remains will be removed to the St. Thomas Lutheran Church where he will lie in state on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.., the time of service. The Rev. Gerald Myers officiating.
