He had been in failing health for the past five years. Born in Landes, W. Va., he was a son of Mrs. Myrtle (Alt) Nazelrod and the later Walter Reed Nazelrod. He was employed as a trucker for the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 271, Cumberland, and LaVale Baptist Church. Surviving besides his mother are his wife, the former Belmont Bohrer: two sons, Walter I., Red Hill, and Martin, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Edgar Osborne, Landover, Md.; Mrs. Allen Dawson, Westminster, Md., and Miss Loretta Marie Nazelrod, at home; and four grandchildren. He was a brother of Metro and Juley F. Nazelrod, both of LaVale, and Mrs. George S. Burke, Meyersdale. Funeral service was held Friday afternoon at Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, in LaVale, with Rev. B. Finney Bragg officiating. Interment was made in the Nazelrod cemetery, Braddock road, Cumberland. A memorial service was conducted on Thursday evening by members of LOOM, No. 271. Pallbearers were James Lease, James McDonald, Richard Flanagan, William A. Pritts, Charles Schelble, Edward P. Twigg and William Jewell. Meyersdale Republican, Jan. 26, 1967
