Born October 1, 1922 in Raineytown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Vasyl and Kateryna (Mynko) Nider. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley Nedrow. Also, sisters: Mary and Anna; brothers: Nick, Wasco, and Andy; and son-in-law, David Bridegum. She is survived by daughters: Donna (Jim), Laura, Joyce (Dave), and Janice (Bobby). Grandchildren: Mike, Marcie, Steve, Mike, Jason, Jeremy, Zachary, Rachael, Angela, Jessica, Lucas, and Andy. There are 11 great-grandchildren with one more due any day. Also survived by sisters: Katherine, Rose Ann, Stephanie; brother, Mike and numerous nieces and nephews. During World War II, she began her career in nursing in the Army Cadet Corp. She was a former employee of Somerset Community Hospital before moving to Florida, where she continued her career in nursing until the age of 76. She attended Edison College in Ft. Myers, FL to pursue her interest in writing. She was an avid reader who instilled her love of books in all of her daughters. She was a strong and independent woman, having inherited these characteristics from her parents, who, in the early 1900s, had the courage to leave their home in the Carpathian Mts. in Europe and travel to America in search of a better life. She was the driving force who began a collection among her relatives, raising enough money to have her parents' names inscribed on the Wall Of Honor at Ellis Island. She was an active member of the Veteran's Assoc. for many years. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul's Russian Orthodox Church in Goodtown, PA. There will be a private viewing before the service for members of the family only. Funeral service will be held Wed. November 29 at 1 p.m. at Deaner's Funeral Home, Berlin, PA. The Rev. Ralph Landis officiating. Interment Fritz Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter & Paul's Russian Orthodox Church, 635 Sunshine Ave., Central City, PA 15926.
