Neil, 90, 807 Goucher St., Johnstown, formerly of Garrett, died Aug. 26, 1980, at Allegheny Lutheran Home. He was born Oct. 24, 1889, in Garrett County, Md., son of Daniel and Selina (Bowser) Neil. He was preceded in death by parents, and wife, Emma Goehringer, who died in 1974. He is survived by son, Clyde Neil, Ormond Beach, Fla.; daughter, Mrs. Albert (Helene) Harbold, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and York; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; step-sister Mrs. Adam (Rosa) Richter, Grantsville, Md.; step-brother, Julius Oester, Garrett County, Md. He was a retired maintenance mechanic in the coal industry. Fifty-year member of Meyersdale Lodge 554, F. and A.M. attended St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Pine Hill. Friends were received at Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services were conducted with the Rev. Gene Abel officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Heart Association or Allegheny Lutheran Home would be appreciated. Masonic service was held at the funeral home.
