    Richard L. Nelson, 59, 876 Pigs Ear Road, Grantsville, Md., died Feb. 21, 2006, at
  Sacred Heart Hospital. Born July 9, 1946, in Pittsburgh. He is survived by his wife
  Patricia (Wiley) Gatterman-Nelson; one son, Richard Nelson, Greensburg; four daughters,
  Carol Staats, Franklin; Rhonda Nelson, Frances Mogar, South Carolina; and Rachel Kreger,
  Confluence; two stepdaughters, Jackie Marsh, Westernport, Md.; and Jenny Gatterman,
  Wardensville, W.Va.; one brother, Mike; six sisters, Carol, Kitty, Donnie, Judy, Sissy
  and Susie; and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Nelson was a construction worker, a lifetime member
  of Confluence VFW, Post 7250 and he was also a Vietnam veteran. Service and interment
  will be private. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is in charge of
