Born April 28, 1916, in Coal Junction. Son of Antonio and Maria (Bignardi) Neri. Preceded in death by parents; daughter Mary Catherine Neri; sisters, Jennie Neri, Angeline Bresico and Pearl Oldren, and brother George. Survived by wife, the former Helen Urban; children: Archille "Arch", at home; David M. and wife Diane, Crystal Lake, Ill.; Jerry L. and wife Theresa, Sumerduck, Va.; Darlene and husband Tom Beckner, Jennerstown; Diana, Gainesville, Va.; and Janet and husband Doug Ashbrook, Boswell RD; grandchildren: Kelly Lou Beckner, Quincy, Michael and Colleen Neri, Dougie and Helen Marie Ashbrook, and Lee and Gina Neri. Brother of Estelle, wife of Henry Coppola; Jean, widow of Roy Thompson; Dwight "Bunny" and Anthony, married to Joyce Owen, all of Coal Junction, and Lewis, Jennerstown. Also numerous nieces and nephews, including two special nephews, Ed Dorusha and Paul Urban. Member of All Saint's Catholic Parish, UMWA and the Jenner Community Sportsmen, where he was Sportsman of the Year in 1991. Avid hunter and fisherman. Retired coal miner and stonemason. Observed 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 31, 1997. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday at All Saint's Chapel, Acosta. The Rev. Father Blase Wegierski, OFM Conv., celebrant. Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Jenner Township.
