George Neri, 57, Boswell, RD 2, died Oct. 8, 1980, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born May 4, 1923, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, son of Antonio and Maria (Bignardi) Neri. Preceded in death by parents; two sisters, Jennie, died in 1918, and Mrs. Angeline Brescia, died in 1960. Survived by widow, former Anabelle Montgomery; two sons: Richard G., married to former Kay Johnson, Boswell RD 2; Dennis L., married to former Marcia Hay, Somerset RD 2; four granddaughters: Cynthia, Jennifer, Heather and Michelle; also mother-in-law, Mrs. Grace Montgomery, Gray. Brother of: Pearl, wife of Jorund Oldren, Woodcliff Lake, N.J.; Estelle, wife of Henry Coppola, Park Ridge, N.J.; Archille, married to former Helen Urban, Jennerstown; Jean, wife of Roy Thompson, Park Ridge, N.J.; Lewis, married to former Esther Pocolana, Jennerstown; Dwight "Bunny" and Anthony, married to former Joyce Owen, both of Friedens RD 1. Member of Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ. Current church treasurer. Member of building committee and past council member. General contractor for current church building to be dedicated Sunday, Oct. 19. Also member of American Legion Post 181, Somerset; Jenner Rod and Gun Club; and Laurel Ridge Sportsmen's Association. Navy veteran of World War II. President of the Municipal Water Authority of Jenner Township. Friends were received Thursday evening and will be received until 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell. Body will be removed to Mt. Laurel Church near Gray to lie in state from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service at 11 a.m., the Rev. Joseph M. Beer. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. No viewing at church.
