Nessly, 80, of York, died March 9, 1993, at Manor Care Kingston Court in York following a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 9, 1912, in Lewisburg. A son of the late H. Raymond and Edna (Schwartz) Nessly. Also preceded in death by a son, John R. Nessly, and a brother, Carlton S. Nessly. He is survived by his wife, the former Elinor Vitale, a native of Meyersdale, and a daughter, Linda Allison of Lancaster. Mr. Nessly began a distinguished aviation career as an instructor and charter pilot at Rhoads Airport in Somerset. He flew the first leg in an historic reenactment of the 20th anniversay of the first air mail delivery. He later served as civilian flight instructor and as a primary flight instructor for the Army Air Corps. He was a test pilot for Glenn L. Martin Co., now known as Martin-Marietta Corp. Friends will be received at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m., with Pastor Donald F. Sause officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. Memorials may take the form of contributions to The Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Services, 218 E. Market St., York, Pa. 17403.
