Born Nov. 15, 1909 in Somerset, daughter of Charles Abraham and Bessie May (Pifer) Reedy. Preceded in death by parents, husband George E. Newell, who died Dec. 13, 1980, and 10 brothers and sisters. Survived by children: Mrs. James (Dolores) Gordon of Pittsburgh, and Ms. Cindy Burns of Cologne, N.J.; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and brother Charles Reedy of Somerset. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, she was a homemaker and Red Cross Practical Nurse stateside during World War II. She was extremely knowledgeable of alternative healing techniques and generously volunteered her time and skills to help others. There will be no viewing or visitation. Funeral mass will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset. Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli celebrant. Committal Somerset County Memorial Park.
