  MRS. ALICE O. NEWMAN
  
  Mrs. Alice O. Newman, 77, of Fairchance, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 1967, in
  Uniontown Hospital.
  A native of Somerset County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Sevilla
  Opel. Her husband, Clyde N. Newman, preceded her in death in 1951.
  Surviving are three sons and two daughters: Clyde A. Newman, Fairchance;
  Byard of Friedens; Paul E., Yokota Air Force Base, Japan; Mrs. Eloise King,
  Cairo, Ga.; and Mrs. Mildred Chavez, Albuquerque, N.M.; also 13 grandchildren.
  She was a sister of William Opel, St. Paul; John Opel, Accident, Md.; Mrs.
  Mary Firl, Summit Mills; and Mrs. Elizabeth Maust, Louisville, Ohio.
  Funeral service was held in the Salisbury Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon
  with Rev. David Fetter officiating.  Interment was made in Salisbury IOOF
  Cemetery.
