Born May 4, 1922, at Sunbright, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Northrup. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Newman, August 19, 2002. Mrs. Newman was a retired seamstress for Meyersdale Manufacturing and Salisbury Undergarment Factory. She was a member of the Salisbury Church of the Brethren. She is survived by one brother, Ivan "Bud" Northrup, Cornelia, Ga., and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., Salisbury, Friday. Services were conducted at 10 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, December 13, with the Rev. Daniel Whitacre officiating. Interment was in the Salisbury Cemetery.
