GEORGE W. NEWMAN

  George W. Newman, 80, of Salisbury died Jan. 22, 1982, Meyersdale Community 
Hospital.
  He was born Sept. 12, 1901, in Salisbury, s son of the late Elijah and 
Carrie (Lowry) Newman.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Beulah 
C. Yommer.
  He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Helen Drabish, Salisbury, and one 
brother, Hubert L. Newman of Salisbury.  He was a member of St. John's Lutheran 
Church, Salisbury; retired employee of Harbison Walker Refractories.
  Friends were received at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where services 
were held with the Rev. David Fetter officiating.  Interment, Salisbury 
Cemetery.
