NEWMAN

Helen Newman, 69, of Meyersdale, died May 31, 1998, at Meyersdale Medical 
Center.  Born May 31, 1929, in Johnstown.  A daughter of the late Metro and 
Mary (Torpila) Buriak.  Also preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Fuehr. 
Survived by a daughter, Laura Marie Newman, Somerset, and her father, David 
Newman, Meyersdale.  Two grandchildren:  William J. Hoffman III, Windber, 
and David E. Hoffman, Central City.  A sister of Anna Slavich, Columbus, 
Ohio; Pearl Muharsky; Nellie, wife of Ralph Botteicher; Harry, married to 
the former Virginia Rolish, and John, married to the former Evelyn Costlow, 
all of Johnstown.  Also many nieces and nephews.  Private service and 
interment under the direction of the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale.
