Newman, 83, formerly of Salisbury, died Sunday, August 22, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland. Born in Elk Lick Township she was a daughter of the late John W. and C. Caroline Folk Livengood, and was the widow of Edward C. Newman, who died in 1974. She was a member of the Salisbury Church of the Brethren. Surviving are two sons, Ward C. Newman, Confluence; Don J. Newman, Grantsville; three daughters, Mrs. Alberta Tilly, Grantsville; Mrs. Lou Ann Byers, Jacksonville, N. C.; Mrs. Kay Bianco, Wayne, N. J.; a brother, Floyd Livengood, Salisbury; a sister, Mrs. Florence Emeigh, Wilkinsburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The body was taken to the Newman Funeral home in Grantsville. Funeral services were conducted from the funeral home August 25 with Rev. Daniel Whitacre officiating. Interment was in the Salisbury cemetery. The family requested expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad. Meyersdale Republic, September 2, 1976
