   Mary Marie Newman, 85, Friedens, died April 29, 2008, at the Heritage at Siemon's
  Lakeview Manor Estate. Born Jan. 12, 1923, in Dividing Ridge, a daughter of George R. and
  Zeta R. (Harmon) Benning. Preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 54 years,
  Byard Newman. Survived by her children, Roger L., married to the former Cindy Custer,
  Swanton, Md.; and George C., married to the former Paula Eppley, Hollsopple;
  grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Justin, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Ali and Natalie;
  and a sister, Evelyn Lehman, Silver Spring, Md. She enjoyed playing piano and playing
  games with her friends at the Heritage. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
  Friday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a service will be held at 10 a.m.
  Saturday. The Rev. Edward DeVore officiating. Interment Sarver Cemetery. Memorial
  contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Somerset County, P.O. Box 182,
  Somerset, PA 15501 in her name.
