Nibert, 77, Friedens, died May 28, 2005, at Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 23, 1928, in Indiana, the son of the late Homer G. and Marie I. (Campbell) Nibert. Also preceded in death by a brother, H. Charles Nibert and an infant brother. Survived by his former spouse, Annette Horning; children: Jeffrey Nibert and wife, Joan, Pleasanton, Calif., H. Curtis Nibert and wife Rhonda, Arlington, Va., Rodney P. Nibert, Friedens and Mrs. Jon (Yvonne) Snyder, Rockwood; grandchildren: Timothy, Jenna, Mariah, Alexander, Kristin, Hope, Nathan and Evan. Brother of Mrs. Jack (Helen) Hauger and Olive Mae Halverson, both of Somerset. Member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Kiwanis, Jaycees, American Legion, VFW, Eagles Arie 1801, Somerset Sportsman Club and Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees. A 1945 graduate of Stonycreek Township High School and attended Penn State University. A Navy veteran of World War II. Employed with the Department of Labor and Industry with the Bureau of Employment Security, retiring after 47 1/2 years. He was an avid follower of all sports and a Penn State fan. Founder and first president of Somerset Little League. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Rev. Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli, celebrant. Committal in the Husband Cemetery. Vigil for the deceased will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Somerset Little League c/o Donald Ream, 428 Davis Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.
