  John G. Nicholas, 72, Rockwood, passed on July 7, 2005, at Meadow View Nursing,
  Berlin. Born Sept. 16, 1932 in Rockwood, he is the son of the late William M.
  and Emily (Morrison) Nicholas. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carrie
  (Henry) Nicholas; children Valerie Nicholas, Karen Nicholas, Peggy Knopsnyder,
  all of Rockwood, Rhonda Nicholas, Friedens, and William Nicholas, Somerset; and
  grandchildren Johna, Jonathan, William "B.J." Jr. and Zachery. He was a retired
  Park Ranger at Laurel Hill State Park. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army in the
  Korean War and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He loved baseball and
  was a lifelong Pirates fan. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Saturday and Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where a service will be
  held at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Pat Walsh officiating. Interment at Rockwood
  IOOF Cemetery.
