NICHOLSON Mrs. Anna (Shockey) Nicholson, aged 70 years, wife of the late W. W. Nicholson, died last Friday at her home in Summit Township, of a heart attack. She was born April 29, 1870, in Somerset County, a daughter of Israel and Sara (Shultz) Shockey. Surviving are four children: Mrs. Ellis Lohr, Painesville, O.; Miss Rilla Nicholson, at home; Byron E. Nicholson, Pittsburgh; and Cyrus E. Nicholson, at home. One brother, Irvin Shockey, of Meyersdale R.D.; and three sisters, Mrs. Simon Keefer, of Canton, Ohio; Mrs. P. W. White and Mrs. William Wasmuth, both of Meyersdale, and three grandchildren, Paul, Wade and Ruth Lohr, also survive. Preceding services in the local Evangelical and Reformed Church at two o'clock on Monday afternoon, by the pastor, Rev. Nelson C. Brown, brief services were conducted at the Nicholson home. Interment, in charge of W. C. Price and Son, local morticians, was made in St. Paul's Cemetery. Mrs. Nicholson was a faithful member of Amity Church where she attended regularly until failing health kept her at home. Her husband passed away about six years ago. They were loved and highly esteemed in the community of Vim, in which they lived and conducted business. Meyersdale Republican, June 6, 1940
