Nicholson, 86, formerly of Ingram, a Pittsburgh, suburb, died March 7, 1982, in a Collier Twp. nursing home. Mr. Nicholson was a native of Elk Lick Township, reared in Summit Twp., and the son of the late William W. and Annie (Shockey) Nicholson. He was born Dec. 7, 1895. He was preceeded [sic] in death by his wife Mary (Berkhouse) Nicholson, a Pittsburgh native, a brother Cyrus, of Meyersdale RD 3, and a sister Sarah, (Mrs. Ellis Lohr), Painesville, Ohio. He is survived by a sister, Rilla Nicholson, Meyersdale RD 3, and the following niece and nephews: Mrs. Marshall Chaffee, Silt, Colorado; Paul Lohr and Wade Lohr, Painesville, Ohio. Mr. Nicholson was a graduate of Meyersdale High School and attended Franklin and Marshall College, taking a Master Degree from University of Pittsburgh. He spent his entire adult life as a teacher of Social Studies at Findlay Twp. High School, Imperial, Pa., Allegheny Co. When that school was consolidated into what is now known as West Allegheny High School he continued his teaching until retirement. Various Masons Orders, including the Shriners. Services for Mr. Nicholson were conducted Monday, March 8, 1982, in Pittsburgh. Interment in Allegheny Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh, Pa. The Republic, March 18, 1982 [N0194]
